Perky's Story...
perky was adopted! woo-hoo! [1/17/16]
Perky the Pu-Huahua gets his name honest. He is as perky as the day is long.

The Perk-o-Later loves his Camper buddies, cats and dogs alike. Whether it is kitty or doggy style, Perky likes to play. At 15 lbs, the Kitty Campers are more his size, but the doggy Campers recognize and respect his smaller stature. The Kitties, well, they probably don't respect him, but I think that's more of a kitty thing than a Perky thing. All the same, they get treated top-notch by the Perk-o-Later. He's a perfect foster brother to everyone at Camp. Bowing then running around are his favorite things. Speaking of around, you should see him chase his tail around in circles! He will stop in the midst to make sure we are watching, standing and staring, with a very proud and pibble-like smile across his adorable little face.

Despite his small stature, he is big at heart and huge in soul. Leash walks are a favorite pastime and he excels at them.

His favorite spot to sit is in a lap. His favorite spots to sleep are in the bend of the knees or across the back if sleeping on your belly is preferred. His mansion also is a go-to as a bedroom if the bed is full or the night is hot. When the two-legged Campers, aka humans, leave home, Perks hangs out free but also doesn't mind being in the mansion, aka the wire kennel. Granted it takes a bribe to get him there, but then he sits proudly awaiting his treat like the handsome and awesome little man he is.

Perky has all the bells and whistles, a microchip, advantage multi flea preventative, heart worm negative test results, and rabies vaccination. He has big brown eyes soulful eyes and expressive ears, too. Just saying...

Perky, as all Campers of Chaos are, is an indoor family member with outside privileges. He will need a diligent family regarding doors in that he likes to bolt out them and run like a crazy person down the street with no regard to cars moving or the human chasing him begging him to stop.

Perky's adoption fee is $120. To be considered to be his furever family, please email An application will be sent for completion. Once reviewed, you will receive a reply as to being considered and then meeting him. Introductions will not occur prior to having an approved application with Camp Chaos. The introduction will be done at applicants homes and double as the mandatory home visit. We are a foster-based organization and have no facility for you to visit the Campers.

Last but not least, thank you for choosing adoption. Whether it is a Camper of Chaos or a shelter animal, you ar saving the world two animals at a time when you adopt. Not only are you saving the one you adopt, but also you are saving the new foster that gets to take the empty spot freed by your adoption. All good things to each and every one of you. Peace.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Perky, a Nashville Chihuahua/Pug dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua/Pug for sale in Nashville, or seeking a Chihuahua/Pug dog from a breeder in Nashville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Nashville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Nashville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua/Pug breeders who help with Chihuahua/Pug rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Nashville paves the way for another one to be saved.
