Terre Skye's Story...
Hello! Did I hear you say you were looking for a sweet young Weim girl? If so, read on and then make a date to come play with me! I am quite the catch! My name is Terre Skye. I am just over 1-year-old and am a petite and pretty girl at just about 50 LBS. I exhibit many of the expected Weim traits. I am smart, energetic, friendly and cuddly. I have shown no aggression with anyone, human or canine, but I am VERY energetic, so young children may not be the best home for me. I also take an interest in birds, squirrels and other critters, so I would do best in a home without a cat. I need a home where I can unleash my unbridled enthusiasm and not hurt anyone!

I am very playful and need to do some serious running in the yard every day playing catch and fetch. My foster parents have tried taking me running with them, but I need better leash manners before I would make a good running companion. After a day of playing ball, I do love to cuddle up with my foster parents on the couch and relax. I am good free roaming in the house, but also do fine in a crate. Mostly I need to be crated so that the dog door can be left open for my senior siblings. I tend to cause trouble outside when left unattended. I eat pretty much anything in the yard, such as grass, sticks, plants, and anything else I can find. I can also scale a 4 foot fence..

My ideal home would be one with a big yard and people who want to play ball with me. Another young and playful canine sibling would be a bonus! You also need to understand that I am still young and need you to work with me on my training. I do really well with many things, but could use more time one on one with my new owner. It would be best if I was not left alone all day, at least for now, but would do OK at daycare or with a dog walker to visit me during the day.

You should also know that my immune system is not robust, so I need you to be very careful with my diet and I need some extra attention on my overall well-being. Nothing is difficult or costly, but I need a home where everyone knows how important it is that I follow a strict grain-free diet and get a weekly bath. I am also on a maintenance program with an inexpensive medicine that may need to be continued for the rest of my life, but I love taking my pill with peanut butter so it could not be easier.

So, what do you say? Are you ready for a bundle of Weim puppy love in your home? If so, please make a date to come meet me!! I am looking forward to playing some ball with you! I am being fostered in Gurnee, IL

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Terre Skye, a Grand Haven Weimaraner dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Weimaraner for sale in Grand Haven, or seeking a Weimaraner dog from a breeder in Grand Haven.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Grand Haven already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Grand Haven breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Weimaraner breeders who help with Weimaraner rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Grand Haven paves the way for another one to be saved.
