My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, My name is Lulu. Thanks for clicking on my picture - I really like meeting new people!

I am an approximately 8-10 year old spayed female Pomeranian. When I came in from the shelter, I had a big fluffy coat, but I was matted right down to my skin. My coat is sure to come back in just as beautiful as ever - aren't my adorable little ears cute!! They are so soft and fluffy - just like the rest of my coat will grow in to be like. Anyhow, more about me. I am a super social girl. I love everybody! I love being picked up, petted, belly rubs, and just spending time with my humans. I don't mind dogs but I don't really play with them. Big super playful or hyper dogs scare me a bit - so I'd like a home where my canine friends were mellow and gentle.

I am trustworthy in the house by myself for 4 hours at a time, and I am also crate trained. There are only a handful of teeth left in my mouth, so I need a soft food diet. Either a chunks in gravy or moisted kibble are my favorites. Everyone I meet tells me how adorable and sweet I am. They refer to my bottom teeth as "snaggle tooth" because they apparently stick out funny. The doggie dentist says they are just fine as they are. Oh, and I shouldn't forget, some people peg us Poms as Yappy dogs. I am not a yapper at all. I will only bark for your attention, and I have a tiny little voice.

My friends at NBS Animal Rescue are helping me to find the perfect fur-ever home. All of the dogs in our rescue are have different personalities and needs within an adoptive home. Not all of my friends here at NBS Animal Rescue have the same requirements, so if I’m not be the perfect fit for your family- be sure to check out my other doggy friends too! For me?

These are the things I fur-sure need in my fur-ever home!
- Calm and quiet home with low activity.
- Family who is gone no longer than 5 hour periods.
- Children must be 12 yrs or older
- I have chronic bronchitis that requires some additional meds which my foster family would be happy to talk to you about. Because this can be triggered by allergens, I cannot be in a home with birds or cats.

If you think I might be the perfect addition to your family please follow these steps:

1.) Visit www.nbsar.org to fill out my adoption application. As an approved adopter, my rescue friends can set up a home visit so I can meet you. Our rescue is 100% run by volunteers, to help your application be processed as quickly as possible, please make sure to….

2.) Call your veterinarian and give them permission to release information about your current and past pet’s veterinary history.

3.) Call your references too! Let them know to expect a phone call from an unknown phone number, and a rescue team member will need to talk to them on the phone as a reference.

My adoption fee is $150.00 and includes a DHPP vaccine, bordatella vaccine, de-worming, spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine (age appropriate), heartworm test (age appropriate), heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip insertion, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, leash and collar and one week's worth of food. If you’d like to meet me, please apply online and to become an approved adopter!

Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on vaccinations and heartworm preventative , spayed/neutered (unless a documented medical reason is on file with your veterinarian). Dogs must be current on Distemper DHPP combo vaccine and Rabies vaccine, cats must be current on Distemper and Rabies at the time of application. This also applies to any pets in your home within the past five years.

While I hope that you have fallen in love with me and are ready to apply, I understand if I might not be the perfect pup for your family just yet. However, would you please help by sharing my picture on Facebook, twitter or by email? I'm a great pup and need a loving family to give all of my love and puppy kisses to! Thank-you for your help!
