Jessie's Story...
Introducing Jessie. Jessie was found, along with her siblings, in horrible living conditions. They were left to fend for themselves outside. A friend of the rescue made us aware of their situation and we picked them up. Their "owner" didn't care what happened to them, and we were happy to make them a part of the Wilson animal rescue family. We immediately took the pups to the vet to be checked out. Jessie had an injry to her tail - which was stitched up and is healing beautifully.

Jessie definitely has dachshunds in her ancestors, some may guess collie also (based on the look of one of her brothers), but we can't see it in her as much. She will likely be a smallish-medium sized dog. She fits lovely into American Girl Doll clothes according to the little girl who is helping to foster her. We also hear she quite loves her tiny fur coat ;-)

Jessie is living in a foster home with other dogs and kids and is a happy and healthy girl. Her adoption fee is $250 and will cover her vaccinations, microchip, spay surgery, deworming. Please email us at to receive an adoption application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jessie, a Memphis Dachshund puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Memphis, or seeking a Dachshund puppy from a breeder in Memphis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Memphis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Memphis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Memphis paves the way for another one to be saved.
