My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This girl has got stronger And if I knew then what I know now I would have told myself Don't worry any longer, it's okay 'Cause a face without freckles Is like a sky without the stars Why waste a second Not loving who you are. - from 'Freckles' by Natasha Bedingfield
Our little Freckles had a very rough start to life. Sadly, ending up at a high kill shelter was probably the best thing that ever happened to her prior to rescue. She was literally starving to death. So at least being a shelter pup provided food, shelter and people who cared about her. Freckles is a two years old liver spotted poiner/hound mix weighing 40 lbs. She may gain a few more pounds as she fills out but she is a petite girl for sure. Her foster mom says she is a joy to be around. She is laid back and is happiest with calmer dogs. She is very good with adults and children, loves running and playing in the yard with all. Her philosophy on cats is they are to be ignored and all will happily co exist. Freckles has had no accidents in her foster home so we give her a good girl on house training. She is very smart and can figure things out if she really wants something...i.e. keep a lock on the gate latch cuz she can open it. Freckles does not appear to be a digger or a jumper just a latch lifter. She was a very well behaved overnight house guest for a fellow foster who doggy sat for her. Freckles is happy to be around her people but she's not an up close and personal kind of girl, foster mom was quite pleased with the fact that she is not a licker. She does, however, have an obsession with the resident bunny (never allowed to roam free with Freckles). When she isn't obsessed with the rabbit, she enjoys some good belly rubs. Freckles is already spayed, up to date on all vaccinations, and current on all preventatives. She had a pretty awful start to life, but she's a stong girl now. No longer does she have to worry about things like food. shelter, and being loved. She has all of those things in foster but it's time for her to take the next step. It's time for Freckles to have her very home with her very own forever people. We know you will fall in love with this beautiful little girl, and when you do, you will see that facing the day without Freckles is like seeing a night sky without stars. Don't waste another second....we didn't and we love her beautiful freckled self.
