My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

When you meet confident, purry little Verity you will say: “Stop it!” She is just so cute it should be a crime. It must be her addictive allure that attracted her admitter- a visitor to Chicago who came across this tuxedo-coated darling while on vacation. Though youngest cat in her colony room, Verity doesn’t let the bigger cats push her around. Energetic and playful, Verity would do best in a home here she will receive plenty of play and attention. She would be a feisty playmate for other young cats. Verity was born in 2014 and she is positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus*, but she’s a sweet and purry cat who would make a great addition in most any home!

*Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) causes a weakening of the immune system in cats. It's often compared to human HIV, but FIV is not transferable to humans or other species. It is also difficult to transfer to other sterilized cats, and we believe that mixed FIV and non-FIV households can work if managed properly. If kept indoors in a stress-free environment, with regular medical care and high-quality nutrition, most FIV+ cats live long and healthy lives. Tree House staff can help answer your questions to see if an FIV+ cat is the right choice for you. FIV+ cats adopted from Tree House are eligible for a lifetime veterinary-care plan that includes a free annual exam and discounted treatments.
