Tinkerbelle & Freckles's Story...
Miniature Dachshund Tinkerbelle (female) and her dear buddy Freckles (male) (also a miniature dachshund) became orphans when their beloved Mom passed away unexpectedly. They have only known life in a home and when they were brought to a shelter everyone realized they needed to be moved to a foster home. No one could bear to stress them more than the loss of their pet guardian had done. They are a bonded pair and we'd love to find someone who would be willing to take these two buddies together. We believe they are about 9, and although Tinkerbelle did dip into the doggy treats a little too often, some walks should get her fit again.
They are high-spirited, friendly little dogs who need to find a home soon as there are so many other pets needing foster space.
I would advise not to place them in a home with cats and if there is a yard, they will dig so they must be watched (I learned the hard way). They love to be carried like babies and are really no trouble at all. They get along with other dogs and spend most of their time together. The will use wee wee pads if necessary and are very clean. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tinkerbelle & Freckles, a Oakland Gardens Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Oakland Gardens, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Oakland Gardens.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oakland Gardens already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oakland Gardens breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oakland Gardens paves the way for another one to be saved.
