Lily's Story...
Happy Happy Happy - that's Lily. She is just a little old, happy lady - she is very easy to care for. She does require a lot of grooming but she is so easy going, it's not difficult at all. Lily needs regular hair trims, he nails done and her ears clean as she has had problems with ear mites. Lily was very overweight and had some respiratory issues so she needs a clean environment (no smoking around her) and she needs to stay on a healthy diet. She's low energy lady who just enjoys napping all day, followed by an evening cuddle. Suddenly - she will surprise you with a little burst of puppy energy and she starts dancing and I think I even hear her laughing sometimes. Although Lily has some care needs because she is an older dog and a Maltese with growing hair - she is not on any medications and she is a very, happy little dog. She does have some little accidents but they are tiny and she does learn where to go, she just needs a little patience. She is crate trained and doesn't chew things up or eat much. Lily just loves people, and other dogs, and sunshine, and food and EVERYTHING. She just smiles all the time. Lily is already about 10 years old but she could have another good 5 years in her. She is very adaptable to change and gets along well with other dogs and cats too. Home visit is required. When replying, please send your location.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lily, a Marion Maltese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maltese for sale in Marion, or seeking a Maltese dog from a breeder in Marion.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marion already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marion breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maltese breeders who help with Maltese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marion paves the way for another one to be saved.
