My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We have a pair of male guinea pigs looking for their forever home. Their names are Cash and Panda. Cash is a 3 year old Abbysinnian mix guinea pig. He is a white, black, and red roan. Panda is a 2 year old white and black (with a splash of red) Teddy guinea pig. Cash was born approx. June 2012, and Panda June 2013. These guinea pigs are father and son, and were brought to the rescue together, and need to go to their new home together.

Cash and Panda came to us when the teenager in the family started getting a busy social life and somewhat lost interest in these piggies.

They are both super sweet guinea pigs. They love their veggies and hay, and especially love romaine, kale, carrots, and apple. They also have eaten some corn husks and they have hay available 24/7, which they devour. Cash is the more outgoing of the two guinea pigs, and can be found exploring the cage, whereas Panda is more of the timid one. Panda is often in his igloo, and seeks it out for security. Both do well with being handled and petted, and do not bite.

A minimum of a 40” cage is needed for Cash and Panda, and their new home definitely also needs to have an igloo or some other type of guinea pig house. We have used cages and igloos / huts for sale if needed.

These guinea pigs will come with 2 pounds of guinea pig food (Oxbow Cavy Cuisine) to start you out and a printed out version of our guinea pig care packet. We also have additional supplies for sale -- many of the things we sell for chinchillas work great with guinea pigs as well.

Regardless of past guinea pig experience, all potential homes will be asked to read our guinea pig care packet, fill out our adoption application/guinea pig questionnaire, and provide proof of cage. If you are unwilling to do these things, please do not waste our time or yours. No guinea pig will go to a new home without these things being completed - no exceptions.

Cash and Panda are located in Hammond, Indiana (zip code 46324).

Cash and Panda’s adoption fee is $40.
