Meet Ms. Ruthie!

Ruthie is a super sweet girl! She was surrendered to a shelter because her human could no longer care for her.

She is currently heart-worm positive and a bit underweight. Treatment for heart-worm is costly and we are very thankful for donations to purchase this sweetie’s medication. She will be available to come home with you after her treatment is finished.

Ruthie LOVES children! She enjoys playing fetch and adores a Kong Wubba. She is very playful and does not act her age at all. She seems to have quite a lot of life left in her.

She enjoys walks and wants to follow her one special human everywhere they go!

Ruthie does travel well in the car, but she prefers to sit on the floor behind her person of admiration. She is currently a shadow for her foster momma.

Because she is such a shadow and always wants to be with her special person, she sometimes has accidents in the house. Ruthie likes her person to go outside with her. She also wants to be with her person so badly that she forgets to ask to go outside. Her foster momma is working on this and takes her out frequently to go potty.

Ruthie is not destructive in the house and is able to be left free to roam the home unattended while her foster family is at work.

Ruthie is currently living with two cats and gets along very well with them.

Ruthie is also living with two Great Danes. She is still adjusting to her dog siblings.

Ruth displays guarding behavior and protects her special person along with bones and special toys. Ruthie startles easily, especially in her sleep. her foster family is working on exposing her to new people and situations so she isn’t so skittish. She may be best in an only dog home, but is able to meet new dogs and interact with supervision.

She walks very well on a leash and like a wonderful lady when with her foster siblings.

She really is just darling! She gives you the most adorable looks and usually hangs her mouth open.

Ruthie is full of life and love to give! Don’t let her age scare you, she deserves a wonderful final forever family and will prove it to you! She loves to snuggle and be with her person.
