Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Henrietta is a beautiful, nay, gorgeous girl of only about 2 years old. She is around 55 pounds and could possibly put on a couple more pounds and still be very fit. We believe she is a white German Shepherd mixed possibly with Husky as her tail is just a little too fluffy and her coat just a little thicker than most German Shepherds we have had. Whatever Henrietta is, she is sweet, smart and in search of a new family to call her own.
Henrietta came to us from a shelter, but not directly. Volunteers from that shelter had taken her to a very loud and new (to her) festival in hopes of getting her adopted. Henrietta wasn't ready for any of that and got away from them. She was caught by a Good Samaritan and brought to a vet which is where we picked her up from.
Needless to say, we are looking for a home for Henrietta where they know how to handle the brains of a Shepherd, and the energy of a Husky, all while being patient and careful with her during her adjustment into her new home.
Henrietta is very good on lead and in a crate through the whole night. We have not heard her bark - not once! She even knows basic commands. Being inside a house was a little foreign to her, but with watching her foster siblings she figured out all of the amazing benefits of being inside with her human pack mates and thinks it is the bomb now.
If you are interested in adopting Henrietta, please go to the Adoption Process page of our website - throwmeabonedogrescue.org - for more information on how to begin the process.
All potential adopters are expected to complete an application and provide pictures of their yard, patio, and/or balcony making sure we can see the fence line and/or railing. The application can be completed and submitted from our website - throwmeabonedogrescue.org - and is found under Resources. Applications will be reviewed for approval before setting an appointment to come meet and possibly adopt the dog of interest. In addition, those who live in a rental property are expected to provide proof that they are allowed to have a dog where they live.
Each of our rescued dogs has been de-wormed if necessary, de-flea'd (with topical treatment if old enough, and by medicated bath if too young), spayed/neutered, microchipped, is up to date on shots, and has been fully examined by a veterinarian. In addition, each adopted dog comes with a starter baggie of the food it has been eating, a few treats for training purposes, a rawhide chew, a lead and collar, and a folder containing pertinent records.
