Ernie's Story...
Burt and Ernie were living on the streets for weeks and didn't trust people enough to let anyone near them. Slowly but surely I was able to gain their trust and we were able to rescue them. Ernie had been hit by a car and had a fractured pelvis and a dislocated hip. We held fundraisers and we able to get him the medical care he needed which included an FHO surgery. These two brothers have been through a lot together and need to be adopted together because Burt does not do well at all when he is separated from Ernie. They are both sweet and smart and are working with a dog trainer to learn basic commands, boost their confidence, and get them ready to go home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ernie, a San Antonio Hound (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Hound (Unknown Type) for sale in San Antonio, or seeking a Hound (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in San Antonio.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Antonio already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Antonio breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Hound (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Hound (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Antonio paves the way for another one to be saved.
