Here's what the humans have to say about me:
We got a very concerned email from Texas about sweet Gidget ...the shelter was set on finding a home for this unusually beautiful (with the most amazing eyes that speak of great wisdom) and very loving Long Haired Dachshund. We've been told that Gidget is a purebred Doxie but we're always hesitant to commit to that. Gidget has been recognized for her goodness and sweet personality (and her beauty with the striking golden markings always attracts admirers everywhere she goes). But as stunning as Gidget is on the outside (although this sweet pup will be so happy after a sudsy bath and thorough brushing) it just doesn't compare with the love and good-will that flows from the heart of this wonderful girl.
Gidget aced her temperament testing (she passed with flying colors) and got a perfect on her vetting assessment. So...off she went to her foster home...to be reminded of respectful house skills and to wait for her transport to Boulder and a brand new life. Since Gidget has gotten an A for sweetness, cuddling and general positive behavior...she's ready to be a devoted family member. We envision her in a home either with older and very gentle children who can cuddle and love Gidget with a light touch or she'd be a natural in a home with retirees who will shower time and attention on this devoted and engaging pup.
We would never want Gidget in a situation where she's alone for many hours. Instead we would love for her to be taken along on walks, adventures and visits with dog-loving friends. She's almost impossible not to fall in love with...her manner speaks of sweetness. Gidget also travels like a champ - she loves nothing more than coming along on errands, socializing visits and any adventure that keeps her together with those she loves. Gidget would also be a natural to come along on vacations or getaways (and is a perfect companion and lap dog at 18 - 24 months old and 13 lbs..so easy to scoop up and take along)...she's so pleasant with everyone that she attracts admirers everywhere she goes. But it will definitely be the special lap and familiar touch that will draw Gidget back to her family every time...she's a one-family girl!
Gidget will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Friday 7/24/15. If interested in this adorable and sweet...and often very entertaining companion, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com.
