Jersey Girl's Story...
Meet Jersey Girl! She's a terrier mix around 2 yrs old. Someone picked her up and brought her to the shelter about a month ago. Since she came in with a collar on and a fresh cut, we felt sure she was someone's baby. We searched for that someone the best we could. Our hope by her being our Pet of the Week is that either her original owner will somehow find her, or that someone new will choose her to be their baby to love. She has really struggled in the shelter. I think she knows that she doesn't belong there, and shouldn't be there. She is very shy and afraid, but once you show her that you only intend to love her, she is as sweet as any dog I've ever met. She wants so badly to be loved. She needs someone who understands her situation and gets that if they are willing to spend a little time proving to her that they only want to love and protect her, she will be the best and closest companion they have ever had. I can't say enough good about her, but even so, most often people expect to meet a pup that has the bubbling personality and all the makings of the 'perfect fit' pup. If that is what someone is looking for, Jersey Girl is probably not the pup for them. She is the pup for someone who understands that her world has been shattered and that it will take a little effort on their part to put that sparkle back in her eyes. But, I can guarantee you that she is just waiting for someone to do just that. If you are interested in a wonderful girl who will be grateful to you every day of her life for giving her a life back, please contact us at CARA.

Breed identification by visual means is unreliable for most dogs. We are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. Each dog at CARA is an individual and we do our best to describe each animal based on personality, not by breed label.
