My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Even before her owner passed away, this sweet dog’s world did not go beyond the length of her chain. Nobody seemed to know her name; someone said it might be Princess, but she was certainly not living the life of one. Confused and afraid at first, she tried to look fierce then retreated to the small filthy shack that had been the only home she had known for the past few years. Once unchained from the shack, she became a little more relaxed and started to explore where she could never reach before. She devoured the treats offered but remained very cautious for about half an hour. After she felt a gentle caress, however, she was hooked and even gave her paw for more. She did not readily jump into the back of the SUV but allowed herself to be lifted in and settled well on the drive back on a comfortable clean bed, something she had probably never experienced. Upon arriving at her foster home, her sweet and soft nature began to emerge more so we decided to call her Willow. She was introduced to the other dogs there and was very gentle and playful. Willow appears to be a Lab/Golden mix around 3 years of age. She got a clean bill of health at the vet, including heartworm test and stool analysis, has started putting on weight, and will be spayed shortly. Willow has also met the cats, horses, and goats, and is very compatible with everyone. Her ideal family will have dog experience and no small children as we don’t think she’s ever been around them before. Please complete an adoption questionnaire on our website if you’d like to share your home with Willow.
