Dixie (Shar Pei)'s Story...
Meet Dixie, a 2.5 year old lab/shar-pei mix. She is solid black and weighs around thirty pounds. Sweet Dixie is an owner surrender and being surrendered due to circumstances beyond her control. Her current owner was forced to move rather suddenly and unfortunately, is unable to take Dixie with her. This sweet little gal has plenty of spunk and LOVES to run and play. Dixie is great with other dogs, cats and kids. Her previous owner had a toddler that Dixie absolutely adored. She's not much of a lap dog, but will lie between your legs in bed and sit next to you on the couch to watch your favorite t.v. show. Dixie is also crate trained and house broken. She is trained to ring a bell if she needs to go outside. If you would be interested in meeting this precious gem, please go to our website at www.rescueahart.org and fill out an online adoption application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dixie (Shar Pei), a Cincinnati Labrador Retriever/Shar Pei dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Shar Pei for sale in Cincinnati, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Shar Pei dog from a breeder in Cincinnati.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cincinnati already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cincinnati breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Shar Pei breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Shar Pei rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cincinnati paves the way for another one to be saved.
