Milo's Story...
Max and Milo are 4 year old Bernese Mountain Dog/Border Collie mix brothers. They were abandoned by their owner and after a month outside a neighbor brought them to Friendship. The neighbor said they lived with a smaller Jack Russell and was gentle with it. They are super sweet boys that love people, are good with other dogs and tolerate cats. They are good with kids too but the kids should be over 6 years of age due to their playfulness. They are big, energetic boys that need a fenced in yard. Max and Milo love each other dearly but they can be adopted together or separately. It would be hard to choose which one to adopt. They are both extremely nice fellows.

If you have kids and/or another dog in your family and are interested in adopting a Friendship dog please bring them with you for a meet and greet. No appointment is necessary. Stop by anytime during regular business hours.

All dogs receive one or more vaccinations, a basic veterinary examination, are wormed, heartworm tested and spayed or neutered. Dogs 3 months and older are micro-chipped.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Milo, a Elyria Bernese Mountain Dog/Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Bernese Mountain Dog/Border Collie for sale in Elyria, or seeking a Bernese Mountain Dog/Border Collie dog from a breeder in Elyria.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elyria already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elyria breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Bernese Mountain Dog/Border Collie breeders who help with Bernese Mountain Dog/Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elyria paves the way for another one to be saved.
