Jackie's Story...
Jackie is very affectionate and loves attention. She is incredibly sweet, she gives you lots of gentle head butts and really leans into your hands when your scratch her little chin and cheeks. Jackie is quite the little purr machine, once she starts she just keeps going as long as you keep petting her. Jackie is an adorable girl who’s as funny and entertaining as the character on “That ‘70s Show” that she was named after.

Jackie was originally abandoned at a store in DC with her litter mates as baby kittens. They were all adopted and found homes but unfortunately, through no fault of her own, Jackie was returned to 4Paws because of allergies and is now looking for a forever home. She lived with her littermates and a dog when she was a young kitten but has spent most of her life as a single cat. Jackie is a lovely little girl looking for a new home to call her own!

Jackie was born in April 2015. She's been spayed, micro-chipped, is up to date on vaccines, and tested negative for FIV and FeLV.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jackie, a Merrifield Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Merrifield, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Merrifield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Merrifield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Merrifield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Merrifield paves the way for another one to be saved.
