My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dawson is an older 9 year old boy, but acts like he is years younger! He is a very enthusiastic boy and just wants to be loved. He does have some arthritis, but what “old man” doesn’t? Dawson is a bit under confident and will try to be dominant with other dogs until he’s had the opportunity to spend time with them, so that he understands that they pose no risk to him. He is currently living happily with five other doggies! Once integrated, he does sometimes get protective over his toys, snacks, and human attention, but responds very well to correction.

Dawson is house-trained and will go into his crate (his house) without too much prompting. He walks pretty well on a leash, but should be kept away from strange dogs. He is an anxious boy, and needs a home that is low key and calm. He is a vocal boy and when his back is scratched, he’ll make funny “wookie” noises. He really is a sweet and a good boy, quite funny at times, and would probably do best in a home as an only dog or with a submissive female. Dawson needs people who understand his anxious ways and his need for calming assurance. If you think that you can provide that for him, please complete an online adoption application for Dawson. He is being fostered by Allison and Jerry.
