Missy lived as the dog of her foster’s neighbor, and spent her life in a 5x7 cage with minimal shelter, and no affection or interaction with either dogs or humans. Early in 2015 she escaped the cage and was gone until late April, when her foster found Missy - wet, exhausted, hungry, and pregnant!. She took her in, dried and fed her, then told her neighbor Missy had been found! And was told they no longer wanted her…
So Missy was cared for in the foster’s home, and on May 13 gave birth to 5 delightful puppies. (All have now been placed in new homes!) Missy was a great mom, and is an outgoing, friendly and sweet girl. She always has a smile and is eager to please. She is learning the rules of housetraining, loves to get into things when bored, dislikes cats but loves kids and dogs both small and big.
Missy deserves to be a loving companion to someone who will appreciate her love and affection, and return it to her in full measure!
If you feel your home might be the right place for this wonderful dog, the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt. Once submitted, the foster will contact you to tell you more, and to arrange a meeting! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $225.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter.
Missy is a participant in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so custody and ongoing care are provided by the foster, not by DFWRM.'
