Pink's Story...
This is one of five pups were whelped (born) and raised in the woods. We think they were whelped in mid to late May. A family took in an adult male and adult female basset with the five puppies, but obviously, the male is not the daddy. Their mama was a basset hound, but we have no idea who the sneaky daddy is. We speculate he may have been a black and tan dauchshund.

The puppies are being treated for worms and mange in their foster homes, and they should be ready for adoption around August 8th when they are healthy. As their personalities emerge, we will post more details. Get your application in quickly if you want to adopt!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pink, a Marietta Basset Hound/Dachshund puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound/Dachshund for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Basset Hound/Dachshund puppy from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound/Dachshund breeders who help with Basset Hound/Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
