found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.
Summer was taken to a shelter in Mississippi in January of 2005, after she was found in someone's front yard. She was adopted the first time long ago, however returned due to the famiily's grand children's fear of dogs. In July 2011, she found a new guardian but yet again, beyond Summer's control she was returned along with her two dog companions due to financial hardship. Now 9 years old, sweet Summer so badly wants to be someone's companion and be given the love that she dreams of and deserves. She is a mellow girl, who just wants to belong somewhere. She still loves her treats, loves to take leashed walks and the squeak of a toy still gets her attention! And boy, does she love a comfy bed! Summer would be the perfect friend and companion because she loves NOTHING MORE than sitting next to her person with her head on a lap. Won't you please be part of Summer's success story and provide a loving home to a dog who still has lots of love to give?

Breed identification by visual means is unreliable for most dogs. We are only guessing a predominant breed or breed mix. Each dog at CARA is an individual and we do our best to describe each animal based on personality, not by breed label.
Summer is spayed and current on vaccinations
