Sarbonne's Story...
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Sarbonne, Sydney, Satchel, Sassy and Sadie are siblings that were left in a box at the flea market and discovered by a caring human who brought them to us. Sadly, this situation is repeated many times due to lack of responsibility on an owner's part in having their cat spayed or neutered and the belief that these little guys can just be thrown away.

Our current Cat and kitten adoption fees are $125 or $90 which include full vaccinations (age appropriate), worming and Feline Leukemia/FIV testing, etc. The difference being rather or not the animal has been spayed / neutered. If a kitten is adopted before 3 mos. of age we will contract with you to have it vaccinated at that age with Rabies. If a kitten is intact when adopted it must be neutered at 6 mos. of age or an adult within 30 days of adoption. We will refund $20 on your adoption fee.

Right now, because we are over-run with kittens we are having an adoption special of $70.00 instead of $90.00 with a $20.00 refund upon proof of Veterinarian certificate of neuter receipt.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sarbonne, a Detroit Lakes Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Detroit Lakes, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Detroit Lakes.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Detroit Lakes already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Detroit Lakes breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Detroit Lakes paves the way for another one to be saved.
