My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Samm! Samm is ready to find his forever home. He is an 8 year old, neutered male BC. He is black and white with a very unique, mostly black face. He also has (naughty spots), freckles on his legs that I suspect he has earned. Samm is small statured at 18? tall and 38 lbs.
Samm is looking for an active home. He loves to play and run, and will chase a ball or frisbee until your arm is sore. He would do great in a home with older children, but can be frightened by small children. He gets along with his foster (dog) brothers, but does not instigate play with them. He would rather play and wrestle with his human buddies. He will hoard and guard toys if he is allowed to. Samm has very good manners. He does not jump up on visitors when he meets them and does not get in your face for attention. I’m not sure if this is a trait of BCs, but he has to have a paw on whoever is petting him. Hunter (one of Samm’s foster brothers) does this too.
He has a good off switch and is not a pest. Samm loves to chill out with a bone or just hang out in his crate. He is good on a leash, but will pull somewhat to go where he wants. He is a bit stubborn with his recall, and will pretend that he doesn’t hear you. He is getting better and learning that if he comes the first time he’s called, he gets a treat. Samm is smart and very curious about new things, but can be skittish in new situations.
Samm is looking for a home that is active and will keep him young and fit. He would make a good running companion or play mate. He is house and crate trained and well behaved. He loves attention and human interaction. Samm would do well in a home with other dogs, but would also do well in a one dog home. Samm has only meet one cat in his life and was very curious but not aggressive. He did chase it when it ran, but the cat was too fast. Samm is currently fostered in Kentucky, but makes occasional trips to Wisconsin.
