My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pippa is a 5 year old, dark brown with tan and white, spayed female 10 lb Chihuahua mix. She is current on shots and heartworm negative. Pippa was found abandoned with her 4 newborn puppies and taken to the shelter. Her puppies have been adopted but, Pippa is still looking for the great home she deserves.

Pippa is a sweet, loving, very loyal little dog. She is always happy! She prances around everywhere, dancing on her back legs, and constantly wagging her tail. She follows her person everywhere and her tail is always wagging. She is friendly with strangers and has done fine with kids; however, since I don't know her background I would prefer a home with no small children.

Pippa is good with other dogs once she gets to know them. At first she will bark at them but, after she settles in she is great. She loves playing with her little dog friends and curls up and sleeps with my Boxer. She is also good with cats.

Pippa is crate trained. We are still working on her housebreaking. I haven't been very diligent in her training. More managing her (letting her out often) rather then training her. So, she still needs some work in that area but, I know she will get it with just a little time and patience.

If you would like to adopt Pippa, the first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers.

After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home.

Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.
