Hi! My name is Riley and I'm looking for my new best friend! I hope that's you!
I had a pretty rough start coming into rescue but I'm definitely loving the Iggy life now! I'm 7 years old but still act like I'm 5. I've discovered my favorite thing in the world is to be on your lap or snuggled up next to you, whether you want me to or not. I even know how to give hugs! Come on, how many adorable little guys like me do you think give hugs?! I'm a rare breed of handsome! Oh and did I mention my main bit of charm? I only have one tooth so my tongue sticks out the side of my mouth a bit. I am also partially bald, but am now growing peach fuzz in for some new grey and white fur! I'm pretty much the most adorable specimen of Italian Greyhound you ever did see!
I tend to take a little while to get adjusted to a new change, mainly because I'm royalty so I think everyone should know and respect my authority. I like my space when I want my space. I get a little grumpy when other pups invade my space without my permission. Don't they know I'm the one with the crown?!
I am the best burglar alarm in town! Noises in the house don't usually bug me but if it's outside that door I will alert the neighbors! Nobody's getting in my house without permission, except you of course! Once I see it's you I quickly switch from guard dog into welcome home greeter. I'm so happy you're home!
I LOVE TREATS! Any treats, all treats, all day, every day! I love treats so much that I'll try to be super sneaky under the table while you're eating dinner. I'm starting to get the hang of not doing that but man do I love those treats. I think I just like to eat because breakfast and dinner are my two favorite times of day! I eat kibble perfectly fine with only one tooth too. I think eating too much is how I got so chubby in the past, but I am now down to a healthy 13 pounds. I've got my summer speedo body back so I'd like to keep it so the ladies dig me!
At night I start out in my own bed under my blanket but half way through the night I get up and sneak in the big bed because I get cold and want your snuggles. My legs are pretty sensitive though so try not to roll over on me!
I really don't like being in my kennel for long periods of time or any time for that matter. I like to be free and frolic around the house but I understand if I need to be in there sometimes. I'm pretty much house and crate trained and won't usually go potty in my "house" but accidents even happen to someone as awesome as me.
I haven't been around kiddos much so I'm not sure how I'd react to that situation. But I LOVE people! I'm very friendly and love to give love. I'm not a huge fan of my foster siblings but I get along with them for the most part. I think I'd prefer a house with me as the only guy who gets all your attention or with a buddy who's as old as I am and doesn't mind having lazy days on the couch.
I've still got lots of energy when we go to the park or run around the yard. I really like chasing my foster brothers around and being loud outside. I haven't been really interested in any of the toys around here unless of course someone else is playing with it, then I must have it. I would really like to interact with you and get all the attention I possibly can instead of playing with toys. They're just boring after a while, but my love for you will last forever!
