Liz's Story...
AVAILABLE 07-18-15 On 07-12-15 three precious little eight week old puppies were brought to the Shelter by a young man who said his parents just have too many pets (about 20). So he convinced them to let him bring the pups to the Shelter where they will be cared for and hopefully, be adopted into loving homes. Those three pups were Lancaster, Liz and Lori. Lancaster was quickly adopted, but Lori and Liz are still waiting for their FOREVER homes. The girls have been vaccinated and given dewormer and they will be microchipped at adoption. If you've been looking for a precious puppy to add to your family, please come to the Shelter in Elizabeth City and check out Liz and Lori.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Liz, a Elizabeth City Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Retriever (Unknown Type) puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Retriever (Unknown Type) for sale in Elizabeth City, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Retriever (Unknown Type) puppy from a breeder in Elizabeth City.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elizabeth City already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elizabeth City breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Retriever (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Retriever (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elizabeth City paves the way for another one to be saved.
