About CatBugs Pet Rescue, Inc.

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a small group of dedicated volunteers who love animals and who want to make a difference in reducing the pet overpopulation in our communities.

All animals are examined by a veterinarian and then placed into appropriate foster homes where they are nurtured both physically and emotionally until loving, permanent homes can be found. All necessary medical care is provided for our rescued animals until which time they leave our care. No animal is every destroyed or euthanized simply to make room for new arrivals.

We are strong advocates for Responsible Pet Ownership and Spay/Neuter. Every single animal in our adoption program is sterilized BEFORE adoption so that we do not in any way contribute to pet overpopulation.

We operate solely out of a love for the animals and the need to make a difference in the lives of so many animals who have no voice of their own and no means to take care of themselves without our help and compassion..

Come Meet Our Pets...

We do not operate with a physical shelter at this time. However, our volunteers meet as a group with fostered animals almost every Saturday at either:
PetSmart, 6000 Lake Gray Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32244
Petco,1999 East West Parkway, Fleming Island, FL 32003.

We also have cats/kittens available for viewing and adoption every day in the the adoption centers at both store locations.

Application and personal interview with our Adoption Coordinator are required before any adoption can be finalized.

Our Adoption Process...

The adoption fees:
Cats: $$50 - $100
includes testing for feline leukemia/FIV, testing and treatment for intestinal parasites as needed, initial vacciantions, monthly Advantage treatment as needed and sterilization
Dogs: $100 - $250
includes testing for heartworms (dogs 6 mos and older), testing and treatment for intestinal parasites as needed, initial vaccinations, monthly heartworm and flea preventative, microchipping and sterilization.

The adoption process includes an application, personal interview and home visit in some instances. Final approval is based upon a good "match" for both the adoptive family and the pet.
