My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

RITZY
11 year old neutered male

Ritzy is everything a Golden is expected to be. He is handsome, sweet, loving and gets along with everyone and everything. He is completely relaxed and has no quirks or fears. Most new fosters take at least a day, usually several, to acclimate to new home. Ritzy walked in, wagged at his foster brothers, sniffed around the yard a bit and then settled in for a nap. He was as comfortable and trusting as any family dog could be.

He is a very tall boy and shows the wisdom of maturity. He has a shiny coat, bright eyes and a very good looking face. He takes life at a reasonable pace with a constantly wagging tail. Sometimes there is something to run for, dinner for example, but most of the time he is content to saunter about casually. He has a deep rumbling bark that he uses to ask to come in from outside or to let the people know there are visitors.

Ritzy's favorite thing other than food, is people. He will let you know he wants attention by putting his head on your knee and looking up with those deep loving eyes. Or in true Golden style he will lean into you if you are standing and demand your hand on him. If you ignore him he will drift away and lay down close enough to be sure where you are because where you go he will follow.

We know little of his past other than he was obviously well treated. His health, with the exception of some arthritis, is excellent. Ritzy would fit in with any family but would be especially happy to be someone’s full time companion. He is wonderful with other dogs and backs away from any confrontation. He has been at home with cats and, true to his nature, he loves them and they do him. Amazing temperament.

It takes no time at all to fall in love with his sweet face and easy demeanor so be prepared for his magic spell if you visit.
