My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Our P kittens were born on 5/10/15, and arrived as a Stop the Cycle litter when they were 7 weeks old (we spayed mama kitty and returned her to her home). They spent lots of time outside with their mama and have hopefully learned enough to give them a better chance than most kittens if they go to an indoor/outdoor home - though it is still safest for kittens to be raised indoor only. Because they were already 7 weeks old when they arrived at the shelter, and had not been handled extensively in their prior home, they are a little bit shyer and slower to warm up to new people than some of our other litters. They spent a few weeks in foster care and have grown more comfortable with hugs and cuddles, but will take a little while to adjust to their new homes. We recommend homes without small children for these kittens, as loud noises and sudden movements tend to startle them and - ZIP - they would be under a bed in an instant.

Panther is a fluffy, sweet girl who is growing to like her daily cuddles.

We'd love to see all kittens go to homes that have another young, playful kitten, or to send 2 of them out as a pair (which gives you a great pair discount rate), but we do not require pair adoptions. If you prefer to adopt just one, and you don't have a similarly aged kitten at home already, please read our information on Single Kitten Syndrome:

http://forgetmenotshelter.org/blog/single-kitten-syndrome

Then, when you apply for a single kitten, please let us know in the "Comments" field how you plan to deal with the "kitten crazies."

We've included a video of all the Room 1 kittens, taken on 7/20/15 - see if you can find your favorites!

All kittens arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and with all age-appropriate vaccinations; most will need one or two booster vaccinations after arrival, and rabies vaccination between 4-6 months of age. Adoption fee for Panther is suggested minimum $50 after Shy Kitten Discount (more gratefully accepted). Discount available for pair adoptions! All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts. Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to both the Seattle area and Spokane, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your donation to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!
