My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Maximus was adopted as a puppy two years ago. His original owner was unable to continue looking after him and his current guardians want to find him a good forever home. Their work schedule doesn't leave them enough time to give him the attention they feel he deserves.

Maximus is an extremely friendly dog who is good even with strangers. He loves people of all ages, especially children; he is great with the two year old in his current residence. He loves to have his belly rubbed. Max sleeps indoors. He is house trained and can be left in the home for hours with no accidents. He may bark at dogs passing the house or at cats in the yard, but is otherwise not much of a barker at home.

Because of his youth, Maximus is very energetic and will do best with someone who will join him for regular exercise. He loves walks, runs, long hikes and playing fetch. Max walks well on leash, knows sit, stay and lay down.

Maximus has not been used to living with other dogs, and can be reactive and bark at them when out on leash. With training, guidance and proper introductions, this behavior will improve. He has interacted with dogs off leash without a problem.

Maximus weighs about 50 lbs. He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, flea and heart worm medication, and has had regular check ups.
