found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.
I am already neutered, housetrained, purebred, a special needs pet, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.
Duffy is the sweetest, gentlest dog you will ever meet. It didn't take log for us to discover that Duffy has limited vision. A trip to the canine eye doctor confirmed that he has cataracts. Duffy had surgery to remove the cataract and add a new lens to his right eye. We are so happy to report that Duffy can see again!
He is so much more confident when he walks with his foster mom. Though he still must wear the dreaded cone around his neck for another week, he is looking and seeing good!!! Foster mom, Kathleen, will also be glad when the cone comes off, because Duffy is constantly running into the backs of her calves when he approaches. She is black and blue from all the impacts.
Despite all the hardship and inconvenience in the process, we are all so thrilled with the result. His foster mom, Kathleen, has been so patient and diligent with the 7 medicines she had to drop into his eye 3,4,5 or 6 times daily in the early days following surgery. Duffy is now down to three medicines 2-3 times a day. He still has another 2 months before he will be done with the extra meds and the weekly visits to the doctor, but once that is over, we and he will be so glad for the result. Yay Duff!!!!!!!
Duffy is now at the two week mark, and in another week, he can ditch the cone around his neck. His foster mom says he can see with his right eye. He doesn't bump into things any more, and is much more alert about his environment.
Even before the surgery Duffy could navigate a doggie door, find his food and water bowls, climb steps and will come to you when you call him. He needs a loving home with or without other dogs. A fenced yard would be a plus for Duffy, for his own safety. Duffy won't run away, but could wander out into traffic. Duffy is always sweet, loves to ride in the car, and is very gentle.
Duffy has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and is heartworm free. His adoption fee is $250.
If you are interested in giving Duffy a forever home, please write us at email@example.com and ask for an application to adopt Duffy. He is living in a foster home, and we will invite qualified applicants in to meet him after their application has been approved.
