Tommy's Story...
Tommy is a young, energetic and athletic black kitty boy who is small but very handsome. He loves his humans and is very playful and skilled with returning a ball rolled to him. He bats it right back to you again and again. He also loves racing around through his tunnel. But when it’s time to relax, he’ll jump in your lap for head butts and then curl up to nap, motor running PURRRRR!

Tommy is very clean and tidy and will let you comb him and trim his nails. He was rescued from a shelter in Southern Virginia. Tommy has already gotten his microchip, which can be updated with his family’s information so that if he ever were to accidentally escape and lose his collar, a shelter or vet would be able to find his family and make sure he is safely returned home. Fill out application for this terrific Tommy cat today!

Tommy was born in July 2014. He has been neutered, tested negative for FIV and feline leukemia and is up to date on all his shots.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tommy, a Merrifield Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Merrifield, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Merrifield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Merrifield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Merrifield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Merrifield paves the way for another one to be saved.
