My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Maggie. I am a 4 yr old, 16 lb. rat terrier with a heart of gold. My friends include gentle people, dogs, and cats. Not long ago, I was given a sure death sentence because I have a heart murmur and the shelter did not think I was worth saving. Quickly my rescuers jumped into action and sent me to live in foster care. I live with 3 other furkids and we adore each other. My foster momma says if we find just the right family, maybe I could have a family of my own.

I love to cuddle in the crook of your arm and have my head rubbed. I walk well on a leash and love visiting with the neighbors. I am doing well with house-training (we have a doggy door). I am not fond of wet grass, but will go out on a leash on rainy days. I do fine when crated, but need a family who understands that I want to snuggle with you, not without you (I've already spent too much of my life in a cage). Sometimes I sleep in my doggy bed and sometimes in bed with my family. I like to go for rides in the car; and I love to eat, sunbathe, and give kisses. I am always happy. My ideal family would be home with me most of the time, and be calm, and gentle.

This dog’s adoption fee is $225. Adopters must live within 150 miles or 3 hours drive of the Quad City area.
