"Oh Susie Q, baby I love you, Susie Q" - CCR

We like the way she walks, we like the way she talks "barks"; She will always be true and never leave you blue - we LOVE our Susie Q.

Motivated by the love of many, Susie gained her freedom from the confines of an over crowded shelter and into a wonderful foster home where she awaits her forever family. Susie is a two to three year old Catahoula Leopard dog weighing 40 pounds. She wears a beautiful and unique designer coat colored in black with splashes of gray throughout.

Susie is lovingly described by her foster mom as playful and energetic. She loves a good full on run and exploring her surroundings but never far from her people so she can keep an eye on them; she wouldn't want her humans getting in any kind of trouble. Susie is a sweet, big hearted, good natured girl who gets along with all she meets...big and little people, other dogs, and yes cats too!

With Susie you get beauty AND smarts! She is already house trained and learning different commands like 'sit' and 'bed,' She really loves the bed command, time to lay down with foster mom! Susie loves relaxing in the evenings, well anytime really, with her people. We think this makes her a pretty versatile pup...playful, relaxed, social, beautiful, and smart!

Susie is, of course, already spayed, up to date on all vaccinations, and current on all preventatives. She is more than ready to embrace the contentment of a forever loving home. Are you ready to extend your family number by one and become her safe place? Her refuge?

"Oh say that you'll be mine, baby all the time, Susie Q."

Unless otherwise indicated, all Double Dog Rescue dogs have received the following before being available for adoption:

Thorough veterinary examination

All routine annual vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLPP, Bordatella (kennel cough), Heartworm Test, Fecal Test, Deworming

Spay/Neuter

All dogs are quarantined for two weeks outside of the shelter (puppies four weeks) to ensure they don't break with disease.

If any dog shows any signs of disease or ailment, DDR vets the dog until he or she has a clean bill of health to the best of our knowledge. This includes anything from being treated for Heartworm, Broken Leg, Cherry Eye, Torn ACL, Upper Respiratory etc.)

NOTE: Dogs who were treated for Heartworm can test positive up to 4-6 months after last treatment. All dogs are immediately put on Heartguard/Ivermectin following the treatment to kill the Heartworm larvae. All dogs should be re-tested after 4 months from the last Heartworm treatment.
