Meet our handsome new guy in town, Rock Hudson, sure to sweep you off your feet with his striking features, adorable little face, and unique personality and charm.

Rock Hudson is a 5 Month old Beagle mix, currently weighing 10 pounds and still growing. We anticipate he will grow to about 20 pounds. He is great with other dogs.

Rock Hudson is definitely a lap dog! But he also enjoys going for rides in the car, cuddling and watching TV.

Foster mom is currently working on house training and crate training, and our smart little guy is doing great. Of course, he is already neutered, and up to date on shots and preventatives and is ready to move into his new home.

PUPPIES GROW INTO the expectations of their families through consistent love, caring and training. Puppies cannot be adopted to homes where they are left unattended for more that 3-4 hours.

PLEASE REMEMBER: The specific breed of any dog abandoned to shelter is the best guess by seasoned rescuers in accord with our veterinarians.

Unless otherwise indicated, all Double Dog Rescue dogs have received the following before being available for adoption:

Thorough veterinary examination

All routine annual vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLPP, Bordatella (kennel cough), Heartworm Test, Fecal Test, Deworming

Spay/Neuter

All dogs are quarantined for two weeks outside of the shelter (puppies four weeks) to ensure they don't break with disease.

If any dog shows any signs of disease or ailment, DDR vets the dog until he or she has a clean bill of health to the best of our knowledge. This includes anything from being treated for Heartworm, Broken Leg, Cherry Eye, Torn ACL, Upper Respiratory etc.)

NOTE: Dogs who were treated for Heartworm can test positive up to 4-6 months after last treatment. All dogs are immediately put on Heartguard/Ivermectin following the treatment to kill the Heartworm larvae. All dogs should be re-tested after 4 months from the last Heartworm treatment.
