Maximo's Story...
AVAILABLE 07-17-15 On 07-11-15 an Animal Control Officer brought this cute little dog to the Shelter as a stray. We checked him for heart worms and none were found, so he's now on preventative. We gave him his basic shots and named him Maximo. Maximo is the cutest little guy - probably a Staffordshire Terrier with his short legs and body. He has a smiley face and just seems to be happy. He's a little shy when you first meet him, but warms up once you take him for a walk. Maximo does really well on leash and enjoys just sitting under the shade of the tree. We really can't believe that no one has been looking for this good looking boy, but they haven't and now Maximo is available for adoption. Please come to the Shelter in Elizabeth City and meet Maximo - you'll surely fall in love and might decide to make him you new canine BFF.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Maximo, a Elizabeth City Staffordshire Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Staffordshire Bull Terrier for sale in Elizabeth City, or seeking a Staffordshire Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Elizabeth City.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elizabeth City already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elizabeth City breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Staffordshire Bull Terrier breeders who help with Staffordshire Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elizabeth City paves the way for another one to be saved.
