My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Millie is one of those dogs that got caught in an overcrowded and dreary high-kill shelter through no fault of her own. It's so difficult for any particular dog to stand out and get the acknowledgement for a great temperament (and being so very beautiful with a shining black coat with a strip of white that make Millie look so dignified.) and therefore get spared from euthanasia. As you might imagine...Millie must have been SO very special. She was recognized for the exceptional dog she is and efforts were put forth to insure her safety and ultimate adoption.

Millie would be a dream come true for anyone who enjoys the dignified personality of the Flat Coated Retriever combined with the very sweet and playful personality of the Golden. Millie's foster mom had the following to say about this gorgeous girl:
Millie is a calm yet playful girl who really doesn't have any negative traits that stand out! She's a lovebug who wants nothing more than to warm the couch when she lies next to me in the evening. She's so devoted and SO sweet! She's just about perfect in the house and has been trustworthy in virtually every situation. She's absolutely great with me, my husband, our 3 kids (from 12 - 15 years old) and our 2 dogs. Millie is, hands down, just about the most perfect and loving dog I've ever fostered. Her lucky new family is getting a true gem!

Farfel's Rescue was contacted to help find this wonderful girl the greatest home possible..she absolutely deserves the love and respect of a forever family. Millie is an exceptional doll baby (words of his foster mom) that is 17 months old and 40 lbs. She's such a great age...old enough to be beyond the young puppy behavior that can be so challenging yet young enough to have many, many active years ahead.

Also, at 40 lbs..Millie is the perfect size to walk (or hike) the Colorado mountains. We envision this super-loving pup either in an adult household who choose to spend lots of time with a fuzzy best friend. Or Millie would be overjoyed with the company of gentle kids and dogs. She would be so excited with the playtime and then at day's end, would be the greatest snuggler ever. Millie is so good-natured and respectful that she would be a great companion to be out and about with.

Millie has been in a foster home in Texas while waiting for her transport to Denver (her great behavior and sweet nature earned her this ticket). She has been working on her home and socialization skills and we're so proud of her progress.

Millie is a lightly shedding pup who will require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep her stunning retriever coat healthy and cottony-soft.

Millie will be arriving on transport in Denver on Friday morning 8/1/15. If you're interested in this sweet, endearing and often entertaiing pup, please fill out and return to farfelsapps@gmail.com or mail a hard copy to Farfel's Farm 906 Pearl Street Boulder, CO 80302.
