Plato's Story...
This smiley little guy is Plato, an 8 year old chihuahua that would just love a great home of his own with a best friend to snuggle up with at night. Plato came to us from our Newark facility after this tiny guy was found wandering the streets all alone. Plato picked up a nasty cold while out on his own, but he has since had plenty of rest, good medical care, and TLC, and now he's happy, healthy, and ready to go home. Please don't overlook Plato because of his age....he's got lots of spunk and energy, and has many good years ahead of him to bounce around and have fun. You might also overlook Plato because of the way he acts while he is in his area indoors. He has a bit of chihuahua-tude when you go to see him but please, ask to see him outside and you'll see what a great guy he is. Plato takes a little while to learn to trust you but once he does, he is truly your best friend for life. He bonds quickly with people and when he spots one of his friends across the parking lot, he jumps for joy and simply must go and greet them. He will make a loving little companion and lap-warmer for some lucky person. Plate will need a home with no children under 12, but he seems just fine with other well behaved dogs, and is eager to start life over again in a happy new home. File#24788 5/29/15

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Plato, a Forked River Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Forked River, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Forked River.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Forked River already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Forked River breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Forked River paves the way for another one to be saved.
