Shadow's Story...
Hello there, Shadow here. Looking for a new love is the stage of life I am in. My family couldn't keep me so I am here hoping to make the purr-fect connection. I am sweet and affectionate despite being a bit nervous with the hectic change into shelter life. I am about one year old so have a playful side, batting around balls or crinkled paper, fuzzy mice, bits of string, you know all those fun pounce on kind of things. Napping is also a favorite one of my hobbies! I like attention and appreciate a good pet or scratch. I have lived with other cats and children so should do okay in a home with a friendly cat or gentle child. If you think we could be a match don't delay, come and visit me today!

Before making the trip to visit the shelter we strongly recommend checking our website for information on adoption policies and procedures. Please understand that because we are a busy place and because so many animals need our care and attention, adoptions are on a first come basis and no animal will be put on hold. To inquire about a pet's availability or for more information, we encourage you to visit our shelter in person. Due to the high volume of interest, email and phone inquiries may not be returned on a daily basis. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to your visit! www.capeannanimalaid.org 978-283-6055 ex 10 for reception desk

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shadow, a Gloucester Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Gloucester, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Gloucester.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gloucester already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gloucester breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gloucester paves the way for another one to be saved.
