Well hello! My name is Syrah and as you can see, I’ve had a pretty tough life.  I spent part of my life living on a farm, which is where I was before I came to live with my foster family at TKN.  I was with my new foster family for just a few weeks before I had a litter of kittens.  They have all found homes, but I guess nobody had room for a full grown kitty.  I’m still hopeful that the right family will come along and give me the love and attention that I need.

I am a very playful and affectionate girl.  Playing with catnip filled toys is my favorite.  I also like to scratch my scratching post.  I am a very affectionate girl who is gentle and sweet.  I do very well with calm children.  I have met many other cats in my foster home and have done well with them all.  I also live with dogs now and get along with them very well.

My appetite is very healthy, so I will need a family that can monitor my meals.  I like to beg for food, just in case someone is willing to give me an extra snack.  My foster mom says that I need to stay on my diet so I don’t get chubby again.  I don’t really share my food well, so I would need to be fed separately if there was another kitty in my new home.

When I came to TKN, I was missing a lot of hair and had sores on my skin.  After some great work by our veterinary team at Riverside Cat Hospital, I was diagnosed with allergies. Now I take allergy shots once a week and I am feeling, and looking, much better!  I also have a crumpled ear from an old injury.  It doesn’t hurt, but it does give me a lot of character.  I am spayed, up to date on vaccines, negative for FIV and Felv, microchipped, and recently had a dental.
