Adoption fee is $50, this dog is approx. 5 yrs old and 13-15 pounds.
Toffee is a sweet fun dog, and very cute to boot. He prefers dogs of a similar size or to be a only dog, he gets frightened by larger dogs. He is always happy to greet you and dances on his hind legs. He enjoys when new people shower him in attention. He can be shy and standoffish with some but not all men. He loves older kids to but he gets nervous and scared with the kids that like to chase dogs and play with them rough as the younger ones tend to do and he will bit at them. He likes to go for walks and will dance while you are getting the leash. He is pretty much housebroken but takes a bit of time to adjust in a new space. He knows how to sit and shake and a few other things like dancing in a circle. He is cute as can be and would love to find a family.
That's most of the good things about this really cute dog.. now for known bad habits we have seen, which is really just one thing that is common among spoiled small dogs and it has been pretty much diminished with the training and one on one time spent with him to eliminate this behavior. Toffee is a sweet dog and is most of the time when things are going his way .. It seems he had been spoiled little brat in his previous home and learned to use his mouth when things didn't go his way, but this isn't why he lost his home, his previous owner was a elderly lady that was no longer able to care for him.
We have corrected the majority of this behavior, but he will need continued training going into a new home so he don't go back to his old ways. He will have to be treated like a dog with rules boundaries and limitations. If you can handle telling a dog to sit before he is fed, and other simple things and not treat him like a king on his throne all will go well. Examples of when he has sometimes acted out is like if he is being put into his crate and he didn't want to.(which he likes his crate) During getting towel dryed off after a bath something must of spooked him or the towel rubbing was to rough and a snarl for being moved off the couch.
