My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Picture one of Kramer's most hilarious entrances into Jerry's apartment on an episode of Seinfeld. That is how Nina approaches each day -- bursting into a "room" in the most charmingly awkward, happy way. Dumped by her former family at a high kill shelter and absolutely terrified when we rescued her, we literally had to crawl into Nina's cage at Animal Control and carry her out of the building. Once in her foster home, Nina's foster family started the six month journey to building her confidence and nursing her back to health. Not only did Nina need time to learn to trust people again but she was diagnosed with Demodex Mange and required medication and weekly baths. In addition, because her former owners kept her in a crate that was far too small for a dog her size and she spent the majority of her life cowering from humans, the muscles in her back end were still developing. Nina is still building the muscles in her hind legs, but our resident 30 lb. Poxer (Pug/Boxer), has grown by leaps and bounds. It still takes her a little time to warm up, but once she does, this 1 year old nugget completely steals your heart. Nina adores other dogs (and cats!) and would do best in a home with another playful canine friend to show her the ropes. Nina is housebroken when kept on a schedule, crate trained, loves her toys and is super happy speeding around the backyard and the dog park, legs flying. She also falls head over heels for her people once she's comfy. Nina is spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative and microhipped.
