Little Bear's Story...
Little Bear (Golden Retriever/Chocolate Lab) and Legion (Shetland Sheepdog) are the 'Odd Couple' of PCHS. When their previous owner passed away, Little Bear was the first to arrive, and didn't eat a bite until Legion showed up a few days later. For this reason, we've made the decision to only adopt them together as a bonded pair. There's no denying these dogs were very loved in their former home, and gave lots of love in return. Both Little Bear and Legion are calm, sweet, well behaved, and get along excellently with other dogs, cats, and kids. There's truly nothing not to like about about these affectionate and beautiful dogs who are sure to bring lots of joy to their new forever home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Little Bear, a Larned Golden Retriever/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever/Labrador Retriever for sale in Larned, or seeking a Golden Retriever/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Larned.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Larned already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Larned breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Larned paves the way for another one to be saved.
