My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Check out Mig! ("Miggy") She is just under 1 year old and weighs about 43 pounds. She came to us from a local shelter as a stray, so we know little about her past. She had a skin condition at the time, which is now been resolved. Mig is a very happy, energetic, playful pup! At times it seems Mig wants to do nothing but play. She can get a bit pushy with other dogs when they are not interested in playing with her. She is otherwise very good with other dogs and seems to like everyone. Mig has not yet been introduced to cats, but we may be able to see how she does, if needed. She does live in a foster home with children as young as 5 yrs and she is great with them. She requires quite a bit of attention and exercise otherwise she can get pretty rambunctious! Despite the fact she is so outgoing, she enjoys cuddling just as much.

Initially Mig had no house manners, and everything in the world seemed brand new to her. She is now learning some manners and is about 90 percent house trained. She is kennel trained. When it is time to go to work or go to sleep she is very quiet in her kennel. She continues to explore new things every day. She loves to eat as much as she can, every opportunity she can. We do not recommend "free feed." In her foster home, she is used to eating twice a day, and will do a happy little twirly dance for you!

Mig's favorite toys are Kongs, but she also really likes to play fetch and she LOVES ice cubes!! Mig enjoys car rides and does pretty well, however she has not traveled any long distances. Although Mig is quite an amazing girl, she is still a pup and requires supervision to avoid getting into trouble! If Mig sounds like the companion for you and/or your family please visit the RCHS website and fill out an application!

If you are interested in adopting Mig, please visit our website at www.rchsks.org and click on “Adopting a Pet” on the left side. You will be asked to complete a few forms. By filling out these forms, you are not committing yourselves to the pet you're interested in; it's a screening process that must be completed before you meet the dog. Please do this BEFORE calling. Our voicemail is only checked periodically and you can reach us much faster through our website. Thank you!
