Hi everyone, my name is Libby and I’m a happy basset hound. There isn’t a person, dog, kid or cat that I don’t like. I love everyone and want everyone to love me.
Why am I so happy? I finally found a safe home and I’m getting the attention and medical care that I deserve. I am only 15 months old and I already had two litters of puppies. Unfortunately, because I’ve been nothing but a mom my whole life, I never learned any doggie tricks or indoor doggie manners. I also used all my resources to feed my pups so now I’m underweight. Things are so much better now that I’m in a foster home because there is plenty of food and love. They are even teaching me manners and I learned to use a doggie door. I have to tell you there are doggie toys everywhere and other dogs to play with here, it is a doggie wonderland.
My foster mom tells me that she loves me, that I’m such a good girl, and that there is a perfect family for me out there for me. I can’t wait until I find my forever home. I will be the perfect dog for you because I'm friendly, sweet and I rarely bark. I like to play with the squeaky toys, although sometimes I make it snow when I chew on the squeaky toys. My foster mommy told me to tell you that I’m a good girl who loves everyone. I just love being pet and getting ear and tummy rubs. I’m good with kids, dogs and cats. I am potty trained to a doggie door. I love squeaky toys and dog beds. I also love to cuddle with you on the couch and I would LOVE to snuggle with you in bed. She also says I am going to need some basic training but I’m very food motivated so I should be a quick student.
I’m a little protective of my food when it comes to the other dogs, so I should be fed separately or in a crate. I’m just so skinny I really value my food. I did let my foster mommy take my food away and I didn’t growl at her, I just growl to scare the bigger dogs away from my food. And, just like most of my fellow bassets, with my long body and my big nose I’m an excellent counter surfer.
I’m already spayed, microchipped and up to date on my shots. As soon as my two week probation period is up, I’m ready for adoption. If you are interested in adopting me, please get your application in quickly. I can’t wait to meet you!
