Smithers's Story...
Smithers is a 4 year old Chihuahua/Beagle mix (as far as we can tell) looking for a loving forever home. He has the sweet and silly personality of a Chihuahua, and the curiosity and sensitive nose of a Beagle. He loves to sniff everything and his new owners will need to keep him on leash to make sure his nose doesn't lead him astray. Smithers would probably do best in a family with older kids, who have experience with small dogs. He can be a little nervous at first, but if you take it slow he warms up very quickly. He loves other dogs, and would enjoy having a canine playmate. He might be tempted to chase cats, but might be able to get along with a confident cat who won't mind being chased every once in a while. If you would like to meet Smithers and get to know him a little better, please fill out an adoption application at the front desk.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Smithers, a Bellingham Chihuahua/Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua/Beagle for sale in Bellingham, or seeking a Chihuahua/Beagle dog from a breeder in Bellingham.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bellingham already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bellingham breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua/Beagle breeders who help with Chihuahua/Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bellingham paves the way for another one to be saved.
