We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from CCHS, you have to complete an online application at http://www.collincountyhumanesociety.org/adoption-application.html and we will contact you asap about the status of your application.
Trixie was surrendered to the local shelter when her family could no longer care for her. Understandably she was very frightened and confused and wondered what she had done for her life to have changed so:( After some time at the shelter, the staff was notified that this little girl was shutting down, got so depressed she stayed in the back of her dog run and would no longer engage with the staff.
The shelter staff loved this little girl so they quickly sent out a plea for rescue. And when an LHS foster heard her story, she took Trixie into the foster program where she is now patiently waiting for her new home!
Little Trixie is about 7-8 yrs old and weighs 12 lbs. She is spayed, HW negative, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. She is also crate trained and house trained but is such a little lady she is allowed to roam free in the house while her foster family is away. She LOVES to cuddle and take naps with her foster parents as well as lay quietly in her bed while her mom cooks:) She does great with the resident doggies and would likely do well with cats. And given her small size would do best in a home with older considerate kids.
Soooo if you are interested in meeting this wonderful gentle soul with so much love to give, please fill out an application online. Her foster family will be in touch within 24 hrs via EMAIL.
