Rocky's Story...
Meet Rocky! Rocky is a puggle that found himself unwanted as a pup and dumped in a high kill shelter in South Carolina. We thought he was going to have a happy ending when someone adopted him from the shelter down there, but apparently she was a little clumsy and tripped over him and broke her hip. She was not able to care for him while recuperating so she dumped him back at the shelter! His time was running out, so we stepped up to save him from euthanasia.

Rocky is most likely a pug/beagle (Puggle) mix, who is about 7 months old, and weighs about 25 lbs. He may have a little more growing to do, but he will not be a large dog. Rocky gets along with other dogs, and will be fostered in a home with dogs and a cat. Rocky is housebroken, and just an all around happy little guy who is waiting to find that family that won't ever abandon him again!

Rocky is currently being fostered in South Carolina because we have no available fosters in Maryland right now. We are hoping to find a family we can approve in order to bring him up and place him right into his new home to avoid bouncing him around between too many homes.

Interested adopters please email to request an application. Adopters subject to references, vet reference, home visit, and meet and greet. Adoption fee applies.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rocky, a Bowie Pug/Beagle puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pug/Beagle for sale in Bowie, or seeking a Pug/Beagle puppy from a breeder in Bowie.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bowie already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bowie breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pug/Beagle breeders who help with Pug/Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bowie paves the way for another one to be saved.
