Here's what the humans have to say about me:
3 yr old 14 lb Cookie the Shih Tzu, looking for her Furever Home
Brooklyn, NY - Cookie is a darling 3 year old, 14 lb. Shih Tzu who has come such a long way since her shelter days. Here are some notes from her devoted foster family: “Just wanted to give you an update on Cookie! She loves my little girl and also loves dogs. I have figured out that the best way to introduce her to new people is outside of my apartment.(whenever possible) Once outside she becomes a little social butterfly wanting to say hi to everyone that walks by. She still pulls hard on the leash, so we are trying to work on that. She has been meeting a lot of dogs (and people) on our walks and loves loves loves other dogs. Size doesn't seem to bother her. She is also great with my sister’s cats. She is very protective and will bark a lot if someone comes in the apartment that she doesn't know, while wagging her tail as she is barking. We are working on this too, but this is a work in progress. My older pup charlie has been a bit of a grouch towards her but she just walks away if he gives her a growl. She still tries to cuddle with him. If he's tired he will allow it, but otherwise he hides from her. She doesn't guard her food, and she lets me handle her and her food and snacks as she's eating if needed. Cookie will be a great dog for anyone, so long as they are willing to work with her little quirks and give her the love and attention she deserves.
Cookie is spayed, up to date on shots and microchipped too. For more info on Cookie, please contact AmsterDog at 917 689 8414 or fill out our online application at www.amsterdog.org, and thanks for caring about a dog in need!
